PORTAGE | Shots fired Saturday inside one mobile home penetrated a second home, but narrowly missed hitting the resident inside.
Jawana Parker, 28, of 53 Bass Drive, was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness.
Police were called about 1:30 a.m. Saturday to Bass Drive on the city's north side when a resident reported hearing shots fired in the neighborhood.
Officers evacuated residents from other nearby homes to move them to safety.
After several failed attempts to talk with Parker, the SWAT team entered the home and arrested her.
According to police, two shotguns and a revolver were found.
Police found holes in the mobile home that appeared to be from a shotgun slug. Police then found holes in a neighboring mobile home.
The resident of that home told police he heard the shots, but thought they were from an M-80 firecracker. When the bullet holes in his home were discovered, he realized he had been standing near the pathway of the bullets when the shots were fired.
Police said children were in Parker's home and were threatened around the time the shots were fired.
