PORTAGE | Portage police are seeking the public's help in identifying a woman who allegedly reached into a woman's purse in Walmart and stole her wallet.

According to police, at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 31, the woman reached into a purse which was left unattended in a shopping cart at Walmart, 6807 U.S. 6,  and took the wallet, which contained $200 in cash.

The incident was captured on surveillance cameras at the store. Police said the man seen in the surveillance photo was seen leaving the store with the suspect but is not believed to have been involved in the crime.
