Police: Woman tossed drink at man in Hoosier Fight Club

VALPARAISO | A woman was arrested Saturday at the Porter County Expo Center after a police officer watched her throw a drink in the face of another fan at the Hoosier Fight Club.

An officer working security said Maria Shoemaker, 30, who has addresses in Highland and Hebron, was arguing with a man. As the officer approached them, they both sat down, but Shoemaker continued to yell at the man. As the officer escorted her away from her seat, she threw a red mixed drink at the man, hitting him in the face, police said.

She was charged with disorderly conduct and battery.

 

Chainsaws, weapons stolen from Liberty Township home

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP | Two chainsaws, a .22-caliber rifle, a crossbow, leaf blower and other tools were reported stolen Sunday from a home in the 100 East block of County Road 750 North.

Police said burglar apparently entered the house through a rear window. Police said the burglar also opened a bottle of Pepsi and apparently drank about half the bottle. Police swabbed the bottle for DNA evidence.

 

ATV, tractor reported stolen from Morgan Twp. pole barn

MORGAN TOWNSHIP | An ATV, tractor, two air compressors, a lawnmower and an engine hoist were reported stolen Sunday from a pole barn in the 100 East block of County Road 50 South.

Police said it appears a torch was used to cut chains that were used to secure the doors on the pole barn.
