FRIDAY

Theft. Sean McGonigal of Edinburgh Street reported a GPS unit stolen from a vehicle.

CHESTERTON

WEDNESDAY

Burglary. Mark Moldenhauer, an employee with Ellis Electric, was working at 420 S. Calumet and left the location for about a half hour and when he returned he found that the building had been entered and someone had taken a cordless drill and drill charger, flashlight and two rechargeable batteries that belonged to Ellis Electric. Estimated loss $465.

THURSDAY

Theft. Nick Filipidis, owner of Sunrise Family Restaurant reported that two women left the business without paying for their meal. They left in a Gray Lexus SUV with Illinois registration. Estimated loss $16.22.

Vandalism. Jennifer Gadzala, Town MS 4 Coordinator reported someone damaged the sign and removed a plant from the James G. Ton Rain Garden on Lois Lane. Estimated damage $48.

FRIDAY

Theft. Rikki Arvidson Porter reported her 1999 Dodge Van was vandalized and the license plate was stolen while parked at 918 S. 19th St. The antenna was bent and the outside rearview mirror was missing. Estimated loss $100.

PORTAGE

THURSDAY

Vandalism. Keith Meyne of Sandalwood reported fog lights on his car were damaged and tires were flattened.

VALPARAISO

THURSDAY

Vandalism. Alleman Carter or Cadiz, Ohio, told police he was driving on Lincolnway at Garfield when someone is a passing car threw a cup that struck his windshield and cracked it. Estimated damage is $500.
