Clothing giveaway

GARY | Join the Women for Christ Ministry of Christ Baptist Church at its clothing giveaway in the church parking lot. All are welcome to drop off clothing that is clean and in good condition from 8 a. m. to 10 a.m. during the clothing drive, which will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 4700 E. See The Booth Brothers

Church Reset Sunday

HOBART | Central Baptist Church will hold Church Reset Sunday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at 704 W. County Road 700 North. Changes include new service times (Sunday school at 9 a.m., church at 10 a.m.) and some remodeled classrooms. It is an encouragement to all for small group attendance instead of the traditional Sunday evening service, and it will have some new look services (all service Communion Sundays and corporate prayer Sundays). Some Sunday school classes will have new materials, and adult classes primarily will be 13-week commitments. Call (219) 759-5200.

Rally Day

GRIFFITH | Sunday School Rally Day begins at 10 a.m. at Griffith Lutheran Church, 1000 N. Broad St. There will be one church service at 10 a.m. This year the Sunday school will collect socks, caps and mittens for a giving tree. Call (219) 838-1626.


Biblical Greek classes

MERRILLVILLE | Descent of the Holy Ghost Church will host a class on how to read and pronounce Biblical Greek from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church, 750 W. 61st Ave. The class is free but materials will need to be purchased. Call (219) 980-0374.


Women in the Word

CHESTERTON | Liberty Bible Church invites all women to attend a Tuesday morning Bible study, Women in the Word. The group will study Pam Gillaspie's overview of the Old Testament, "Cookies on the Lower Shelf." The group will meet from 9 to 10:35 a.m. at 824 N. Calumet. Cost is $25 for the workbook. Mothers of Preschoolers

SCHERERVILLE | MOPS is a fun and loving support group for mothers of children from infants to 5 years of age. Each meeting offers encouragement, fun and relevant classes, seminars, fellowship and a delicious breakfast. The group will meet from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. at Lake Hills Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 9209 W. 85th Ave. Call (219) 365-4747.


Sept. 11 memorial services

CROWN POINT | First United Methodist Church will offer Sept. 11 memorial services at 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the southwest corner of the church property at the 9/11 Memorial at 352 S. Main St. All are welcome. Call (219) 663-1515.


SCHERERVILLE | Awana is a fun and exciting program where kids learn the Bible from 6:15 to 8 p.m. at Lake Hills Baptist Church, 9209 W. 85th Ave. Each Awana night includes a Game Time where clubbers play fast moving games that create a spirit of fun team competition around the world-famous Awana circle. Handbook Time gives clubbers an opportunity to achieve, earn rewards, and learn God's word through various projects and Scripture memory goals. Council Time includes practical instruction from the Bible about how every boy and girl can become a child of God and grow in their faith. Unity World Day of Prayer
