Plant sale

Women's Day Weekend

MERRILLVILLE | The women of Christ Baptist Church will host the Enlightened, Encouraged and Equipped program for Women's Day Weekend today and Sunday. Prayer breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. today at 8550 Taft St. The Rev. Evelyn Rhenwrick, of Trinity Baptist Church in Gary, will speak on the theme Christian Women in the Power of Praise. The Rev. Shredable, edible fun

CROWN POINT | Trinity Lutheran Church will offer paper-shredding services, lunch and family fun activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in its front parking lot at 250 S. Indiana Ave. Bring documents by the box or bag full to be shredded in a commercial-sized shredder. Have your car washed and treat yourself and your family to a lunch of hot dog and chips. There will be inflatables and face painting for the kids. Live music will be featured. Everyone will have a chance to sit in a semitruck. Proceeds will benefit Awestruck. Call (219) 663-1578.
