Chili fest

HAMMOND | Trinity G.R.A.C.E. Youth Group will host a chili fest cook-off from 5 to 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7227 Hohman Ave. Chili, hotdogs and brats, sausage with sauerkraut, German potato salad, apple slices, cherry pie and pumpkin pie will be served. Gospel Choir performance

CHICAGO | The Gospel choir from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, under the direction of Keith Hampton, will perform in concert at 4 p.m. at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 13100 Manistee Ave. Additional music will be presented by the East Side United Methodist Church choir, the New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ choir and the Lebanon Lutheran Church choir. A freewill offering will be collected to support the Lutheran School of Theology gospel choir ministry. Fellowship and refreshments following the performance.


All Souls Day Vespers

WHITING | The Whiting Robertsdale Catholic Community will gather in prayer, remembering deceased family members, parishioners, and friends, especially those who have died this past year at 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1845 Lincoln Ave. Names of the recently deceased will be read as the church bell tolls.
