Garden Day

EAST CHICAGO | Bethany Retreat House will hold a Garden Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2202 Lituanica Ave. There's pruning to be done, beds and pond to be cleaned, containers to be planted, winter debris to be raked and mulch to be hauled and spread. Bring gloves, shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows. Spend some time getting back to nature and enjoying this community venture. Regardless of skill, there is a job for everyone. Call (219) 398-5047.

Spaghetti dinner

HAMMOND | Hyde Park United Methodist Church will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. at 6348 Harrison Ave. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad bar and dessert. Tickets available at church office or at door. Proceeds will be used for mission work throughout the world. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 4 to 12. Call (219) 932-0613.

Vendor Fair

Town Council still is advancing

South suburban concert

CALUMET CITY | South Suburban Chorale, a 130-voice chorus affiliated with South Suburban College, with orchestra, will present regal music by George Frederick Handel, including the first coronation anthem, "Zadok the Priest," and the "Dettingen Te Deum," at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 768 Lincoln Ave. Admission is free; a freewill offering is accepted. Moody Men's Collegiate Choir
