SOUTH HAVEN | A large fire Saturday morning destroyed a barn on County Road 875 North near Ind. 149.

The barn was engulfed in flames when firefighters were dispatched there before 10:30 a.m., South Haven Firefighter Kevin Austin said.

A horse was seen inside of the structure, but it escaped the building and suffered no injuries, said Boe Jones, assistant chief of fire operations.

Austin said no people were injured during the fire.

The cause of the blaze continues to be investigated, Jones said.

At least four departments assisted South Haven during the incident, Austin said.
