SOUTH HAVEN | Porter County authorities are investigating a double shooting early Friday at a bar on U.S. 6.

Police were called to Sportsmans Lounge, 381 W. U.S. 6, shortly after 2 a.m. Friday with a report that a man had been shot.

According to a police report, a 37-year-old South Haven man was shot in the right calf. A 46-year-old Davenport, Iowa, woman received a gunshot would to the left shoulder. She also received a laceration on her head. Both were transported to Porter Regional Hospital. The man was later released. The condition of the woman was unavailable.

According to witness reports, the man and woman were dancing and drinking together at the bar. The two left together and allegedly got into an argument in the parking lot.

One witness told investigators the woman pulled out a pistol and shot the man. The witness said the woman fired about five shots before the man grabbed the pistol from her. The woman then fell to the ground and struck her head.

According to witnesses, the man re-entered the bar and told patrons the woman shot him.

The man was holding onto the gun when he re-entered the bar and the gun was taken from him by bar patrons, according to the report.
