VALPARAISO | Porter County police have released photos of a suspect in Saturday's armed robbery of the Family Express gas station at 363 West U.S. 6 in South Haven.

The unidentified man walked into the gas station with a handgun  about 11:30 p.m. and demanded the clerk hand over an undisclosed amount of money, said Sgt. Larry LaFlower, of the Porter County Sheriff's Department.

The man left on foot with cash and a couple of cartons of cigarettes, LaFlower said. The gas station clerk was not injured.

LaFlower said the suspect is described as either white or Hispanic and is about 5 feet 5 inches tall. He has red or maroon curly hair, was wearing a black hat, sunglasses, a gray winter vest and red and black pants.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery or suspect is asked to call Detective Lt. Eric Jones at (219) 477-3136.
