SOUTH HAVEN | Police on Thursday released surveillance photos from an armed robbery Tuesday at a gas station on Ind. 149 at U.S. 6.

The photos show a man hold brandishing a handgun. The man's face is covered by a ski mask, but police are hoping someone recognizes the man's jacket

Just after 10 p.m., police were called to the Speedway gas station at 796 Ind. 149, at U.S. 6.

Police said the man entered the gas station and confronted the clerk when she came out of the back room.

The man pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded she open the register. She complied and gave him the cash in the drawer, police said.

The man is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a large build, wearing blue or black pants, black shoes, tan gloves, a dark nylon winter coat with a green collar and stripes running horizontally across the center of the back of the coat.

Police said the man was wearing a black ski mask.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Porter County Sheriff's Department Detective Bureau at (219) 477-3140. Anonymous tips can be called into WeTip at (800) 782-7463. WeTip offers up to a $1,000 reward for information aiding in the arrest and conviction of any suspect involved.
