SOUTH HAVEN | A Hobart woman could face a felony theft charge after being accused of taking $5 worth of cosmetics from the local Family Dollar store.

Porter County authorities were called just after 8 p.m. Monday to the store at 390 W. U.S. 6.

A store employee told police a woman had taken a make-up kit valued at $1.50 and perhaps more make-up.

Officers located the woman in the parking lot with her daughter. Authorities said the woman initially denied taking the items, but then admitted she put them in her purse and left without paying.

Investigators recoved the $1.50 make-up kit and an addition kit valued at $4 in the truck of a car.

The woman was not taken into custody, but authorities are seeking a warrant for her arrest on a felony theft charge.
