VALPARAISO | Valparaiso police are investigating an armed robbery that took place about 6 p.m. Friday at the Valpo Quick Pantry convenience store, 360 W. Lincolnway.

The store clerk told police a man entered the store, displayed a handgun and took an undetermined amount of cash from the register. The man fled northeast on foot.

The man was described as being black and 5 foot 9 or 5 foot 10. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt that partially covered his face.
