LAPORTE | An Indiana University Health LaPorte Hospital affiliate will open an occupational health and wellness facility in Valparaiso in the spring.
Workforce Health, LLC, already has clinics in LaPorte and Michigan City, and is scheduled to open a third office in Eastport Centre off Ind. 49 between Ind. 2 and U.S. 30 in March, according to a statement released Monday.
The clinic offers treatment of work-related injuries, drug and alcohol testing, work-related physicals and employee wellness, among other services.
"We have had several businesses from Valparaiso as well as the surrounding communities request a Workforce Health clinic in Porter County. We are excited to announce that these businesses will soon be able to benefit from the high-quality services offered through Workforce Health, both in the clinic as well as at the work-site," said Brian McKee, marketing representative for Workforce Health, in a statement.
Danielle Gingerich, a spokeswoman for IU Health LaPorte Hospital, said she could not comment on additional plans for facilities from the health system in Valparaiso or Porter County.
"IU Health LaPorte Hospital will make announcements regarding plans as they come up, but (I) cannot comment on long-term plans for any other facilities or services in the Porter County area at this particular time," she said."
The clinic, 1251 Eastport Centre Drive, is being remodeled to include three exam rooms, on-site digital X-ray room and a physical therapy area.
