VALPARAISO | The fifth annual Festival of Trees and Choc-O-Lots chocolate tasting event begin at 4 p.m. Friday at Old Town Banquet Center.
The Festival of Trees will be presented by the Porter County chapter of the American Red Cross. The chocolate event is sponsored by the Valparaiso Sunrise Kiwanis.
There will be an auction of many festive trees, wreaths and other holiday themed items. About 20 vendors will have samples of their choice items for the public. The live auction begins around 7:30 p.m. New this year will be a silent auction for a portion of the holiday items. There also will be souvenir T-shirts and mini-trees to purchase and large gift baskets will be raffled.
Tickets are $6 per person or $20 for a family of four. Tickets can be purchased at the American Red Cross office, 755 W. Lincolnway, or from any Sunrise Kiwanis member. Call (219) 462-8543 or (219) 477-0039.
