VALPARAISO | Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is taking group reservations for tractor-drawn hayrides and pond-side bonfires for October.

Group bonfires are available Friday and Saturday nights in October. There are five bonfire locations available from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Groups can bring their own food and drink, but no alcohol. Roasting sticks will be provided. S’more and hot dog packages will be available. Groups can enhance their experience by booking a hayride during their time at Taltree.

Additional group hayrides are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays. This experience will take guests into the depths of the arboretum to explore areas that most visitors don’t see.

“Nothing says fall like a hayride and bonfire in the cool of a fall evening,” said Alexis R. Faust, president and CEO of Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. “Taltree staff will tend the fires and do the driving to create a hassle-free experience for guests.”

Both group opportunities are for up to 30 people at one time. Saturday night bonfires are $75 per group. Hayrides are $120 per group. The S’mores and hot dog packages are an additional $5 per person. Groups can make reservations by calling (219) 462-0025 or emailing Rain checks will be available.
