VALPARAISO | Brownie Girl Scout Troop 149 headed up a food drive in the third grade classrooms at Hayes Leonard Elementary school in Valparaiso last month. On Jan. 30 the girls then delivered the donated food to Housing Opportunities Food Bank, a division of Opportunity Enterprises in Valparaiso
They were given a tour of the Food Bank and then helped stock the shelves with the 97½ pounds of food which they collected. As a continuation of their commitment to the Food Bank, the Brownies also voted to donate a portion of the proceeds from their cookie sale profits.
