VALPARAISO | A Center Township man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts involving child pornography in a proposed deal that calls for no more jail time.
Ari Spector, 47, will be sentenced to 11 years behind bars with all but time served suspended and spent on formal probation if the proposed deal is accepted March 11 by Porter Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford.
Spector has served seven days in jail and is not in custody, according to the sheriff's department.
Spector pleaded guilty to felony counts of child exploitation and possessing child pornography, according to court staff.
He was charged in April 2011 after police responded to an anonymous tip and said they found a number of images showing prepubescent children on Spector's personal computer.
Spector attempted early last year to have the evidence thrown out of court by arguing it was obtained through an illegal search.
His attorneys said police accessed Spector's email account before obtaining a search warrant. Police then obtained the warrant to seize two laptops and a hard drive from his home, according to his attorneys.
Spector has reportedly been undergoing treatment for sex addiction and will be ordered to continue if the proposed sentencing is carried out.
