VAL0PARAISO | Mental Health America hosts its 28th annual Antiques and Collectibles Show “Treasures of the Past” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Porter County Expo Center. MHA has been serving Porter County for over 50 years. "We advocate for the right to appropriate, quality and affordable treatment to maintain mental wellness, said Mary Hodson, executive director. "We advocate elimination of the stigma that surrounds mental illness and addictions—making treatment an acceptable choice."

For an admission fee of $4 people can shop at the event. There also will be food available.  Appraiser Martin Papke, owner of Kathy's Antiques in Chesterton, will be on site the entire weekend. Demonstrations and services include: crystal and porcelain repair, silver flatware pattern matching and identification, how to re-purpose jewelry and vintage quilting.

"With over 60 dealers, this is our largest show in the past 5 years," said Hodson. "There is something for every age and taste."
