UNION TOWNSHIP | A black and white Chihuahua was reportedly stolen Monday afternoon from the rear yard of a home at 382 Sandalwood Drive.

Ryan Moore told Porter County police that while hooking the dog up to an outside cable at 3:50 p.m., he noticed several children in the grassy area behind his home.

After spending time working in the crawlspace of his home, he returned to his yard to discover his dog gone and the cable cut.

Moore said his dog is black with a white face and a green mark on its belly where a microchip was implanted.
