CIVILSUMAN - Col. Suman Grave Marker Cerermony

A Civil War re-enactor from the 4th Indiana Light Artillery covers his ears Monday while firing a canon during a ceremony commemorating a special marker at the resting site of Col. Isaac Suman at Maplewood Cemetery in Valparaiso. Suman was recognized for injuries he suffered while helping command the 9th Indiana Infantry on New Year's Eve in 1862 at the Battle of Stones River in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
