CIVILSUMAN - Col. Suman Grave Marker Cerermony

Civil War re-enactor David Crane, of Cedar Lake, removes some dirt Monday on a new marker for Col. Isaac Suman at Suman's grave site in Valparaiso's Maplewood Cemetery. A ceremony installing the marker was part of a regionwide movement by the South Shore Civil War Memorial Trail to lay headstones and special markers at the resting sites of Northwest Indiana Civil War veterans.
