WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP | Two concession stands were burglarized sometime over the weekend at Washington Township schools, 383 E. Ind. 2.
Roll-up doors on both stands were dislodged with a chunk of cement and a large amount of candy and beverages were removed, according to Porter County Sheriff's Department. The estimated loss is $440.
The stands were still in good shape as of 7 p.m. Saturday, school officials told investigators.
Considering this was not the first burglary at the stands, authorities suggested that items of value be secured in a cabinet or stored at the school. It was also suggested the roll-up doors be replaced with something more secure.
Authorities have no suspects.
