VALPARAISO | A 38-year-old man was taken to Porter Regional Hospital for psychological evaluation after allegedly making death threats Friday night while at Cinemark movie theater.
Valparaiso police Sgt. Michael Grennes said several theatergoers reported the threats about 6:14 p.m., and, as police were on the way to the scene, people were reported running from the theater.
Grennes said the man, whose residence was not known, had an argument with his father and was disruptive during a movie. That's when he began making threats and making gestures as if he had a gun, pointing it at others in the theater causing them to flee the building.
Police are expected to seek criminal charges against the man.
