Republicans and Democrats in Porter County recently selected officers to lead the parties over the next four years.
The Republicans chose Michael Simpson, of Valparaiso, as chair. He previously served as vice chair and replaced Joyce Webster of Portage who did not seek re-election.
Also on the Republican leadership team are Victoria Gresham, of Portage, as vice chair, Ken Williams, of south Porter County, as treasurer and Krista Arvidson, of the Duneland area, as secretary.
Democrats re-elected Jeffrey Chidester as chairman, who ran unopposed. He was joined by Kathy Kozuszek, as vice chair, and Debbie Kerr-Cook, secretary, both of whom ran unopposed.
Democrats elected a new party treasurer, Chris Stidham, the clerk-treasurer, of Portage. He replaces Clay Patton, who chose not to run for re-election after serving five years.
