VALPARAISO | Porter County Family Counseling Center (PCFCC) and Dayspring Women’s Center are pairing up to host the first annual Global Scream Fest on Saturday, October 12th from 4-10 p.m. at Valpo’s Central Park Plaza (Home of the Porter Memorial Amphitheater). The event, targeted at all ages, will feature food trucks from throughout the region, live music, drawings and more.
The goal of the event is to promote community collaboration while raising funds to enhance the missions of both organizations. PCFCC provides mental health and counseling services to all income levels. They work collaboratively with other regional organizations such as Moraine House, PACT and Housing Opportunities to remove barriers that impede access to mental health services. Dayspring Women’s Center in Valparaiso launched this past year and provides a safe haven for women who are homeless or are at risk of homelessness. They work in conjunction with multiple local agencies to ensure their clients have the support they need on their journey towards stability and wholeness.
Four local bands will be featured at the event: The Highway Band, Stop.Drop.Rewind, Dave Farris & The Shades of Gray and Leonardo & the Making Waves Band. Tickets are on sale for $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets for the event may be purchased by calling PCFCC at 219.364.2732 or Dayspring Women’s Center at 219.510.5432.
