VALPARAISO | Directly after addressing the Indiana Education-Workforce Innovation Conference in Indianapolis, Governor Mike Pence escaped a weather threatened city to travel to Valparaiso to visit the Porter County Career and Tech Center two weeks ago. Governor Pence campaigned on a goal to make access to Career and Technical Education classes for every high school student in Indiana.
“I am somebody that really believes that all honest work is honorable work and I’m absolutely determined, working with leadership like those represented here and our colleagues in the general assembly and municipal leaders, …I truly want to see the state of Indiana make Career Technical Vocational Education a priority in every high school in the state of Indiana and I think we can do that," said Pence.
During his visit the Governor was able to meet with several of the current students, teachers, three graduates (all working full time and attending college), and several employer partners.
