VALPARAISO | Former Valparaiso High School football coach Mark Hoffman has joined the Valpo Schools Foundation as chief executive officer.
According to an announcement by the foundation, Hoffman will be working with the foundation to develop a marketing and fundraising campaign.
The foundation also announced Julie Dalton joined the Valpo Schools Foundation as chief operating officer.
Dalton, who previously was a foundation board member, will manage its administrative activities.
The public is invited to support the foundation at the annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Old Town Banquet Center, 711 Calumet Ave. in Valparaiso.

The ticket price is $40 per person or $75 per couple.
The Valpo School Foundation raises money to provide grants for teachers who want to enrich the classroom experience with special projects, state- of-the-art technology equipment, or interaction between students from other classrooms.
The foundation also raises money to provide scholarships for Valparaiso High School students who pursue their education past high school.
Since the inception of the foundation in 2007, more than $200,000 has been awarded in scholarships and more than $56,000 has been awarded in classroom grants, according to the foundation.
