VALPARAISO | The Annual Holly Days event hosted by Valparaiso Community Festivals & Events will bring the sights and sounds of the season to downtown Valparaiso from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

The Michiana Ice Carvers will construct a winter scene in Central Park Plaza while live holiday music is performed by Into the Light and local Girl Scout troops on the Porter Health Amphitheatre stage. Kids can enjoy free train rides and parents can visit the Holiday Village to start their shopping. Enjoy traveling sidewalk carolers and a live nativity with live animals as part of the festivities.

The first 500 kids to visit the VCFE tent will get Santa visors.

Santa’s arrival at Memorial Opera House and the tree lighting at Porter County Museum are the prelude to Santa's arrival that will begin at 5:30 p.m. Call (219) 464-8332.
