It's almost time to be dazzled in Valparaiso

It's February. Can you believe it? January, usually the longest and dreariest month, just flew by.

Soon, Winter Dazzle will be here, and Central Park Plaza will be transformed into a winter wonderland full of artistic ice sculptures. Valparaiso will be hosting its first ice carving competition from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 24. Members of the Michiana Ice Carvers Association will dazzle you with their talents while vying for prizes and bragging rights.

We will be looking for your help, too. You can cast your vote for the People's Choice Award and let a carver have that great title. Live ice carving demonstrations will continue from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 25, along with free miniature ice golf around Central Park Plaza. Excited passengers can enjoy free horse-drawn wagon rides on both days.
