VALPARAISO | A local jury awarded $85,984 to a Valparaiso woman injured in a car accident six years ago.
Allstate Insurance Co. had offered $7,500 to Carol Reminder, according to her attorney, Christopher Grabarek of the Portage-based Sarkisian & Fleming law firm.
This week's trial before Porter Superior Judge Roger Bradford focused on the nature and extent of Reminder's injuries, Grabarek said. The other party in the crash, who was represented by Allstate, had already accepted liability, he said.
A spokeswoman for Allstate declined comment Friday.
