VALPARAISO | The Village Gallery presents a Marlies Glickhauf Retrospective for a Porter County artist to celebrate her life at 1:30 p.m. Sunday
Born in Germany, Glickhauf trained as a registered nurse in Hamburg before immigrating to the U.S. Her passion for art kept her active as a painter and sculptor her entire life. Believing one should continue to explore new techniques and mediums; she studied and painted with many nationally known artists. Her yearly trips to Europe and conducting painting excursions also enriched Glickhauf’s repertoire. This enabled her to see the world in an ever-changing way.
Her interpretation of the subject matter demonstrates her mastering the varied mediums with confidence and expertise. She approached her paintings with honesty, generosity and determination. This special exhibition will be on display through Sept. 12.
