VALPARAISO | Mental Health America of Porter County is launching a new support group for family members and friends of individuals who are living with a mental illness. TLC is an open, peer to peer support group that provides a safe, stigma free environment where individuals can feel safe sharing their feelings, experiences, and asking questions. The group will be offering information about relaxation techniques, noncompliance, conflict resolution, mental illnesses, and other applicable topics. We will also be providing group members with lists of resources. Join TLC to experience an atmosphere where you feel safe working through and expressing your fears, frustrations, and accomplishments.
Mental Health America of Porter County is a small, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote mental wellness throughout Porter County. We have been making a difference for almost 60 years. We achieve this through advocacy, education, resource and support services. We recognize that it can be hard to care for a loved one that is living with a mental health issue and we are reaching out to those in need of support.
Please call us if you are interested in attending a meeting.TLC will meet at Mental Health America of Porter County located at 402 E. Indiana Avenue in Valparaiso. TLC will meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 5:30pm – 7pm.
