Mental Health America of Porter County is launching a new support group for family members and friends of individuals who are living with a mental illness.

TLC is an open, peer to peer support group that provides a safe, stigma free environment where individuals can feel safe sharing their feelings, experiences, and asking questions. The group will be offering information about relaxation techniques, noncompliance, conflict resolution, mental illnesses and other applicable topics. There will also be providing group members with lists of resources.

Mental Health America of Porter County is a small, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to promote mental wellness throughout Porter County.

TLC will meet at Mental Health America of Porter County located at 402 E. Indiana Ave in Valparaiso. TLC will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

For more information about TLC or any other service, call Christine Pirlot, program director at (219) 462-6267 or cpirlot@mhapc.org.
