VALPARAISO | St. Agnes Adult Service Center is celebrating its 16 year anniversary with a gala to raise funds for its scholarship fund. Since its inception in 1997, St. Agnes Center has prided itself in its scholarship program which provides financial assistance to guests who meet certain income requirements. More than 400 guests have benefited from this assistance.
This year, under the leadership of Joe and Joan Chrustowski, the gala will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Valparaiso Country Club.
Hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and dessert will be served. Sharon Costas will provide live piano background music. Live and silent auctions and a raffle will be held.
Auction items include gift baskets, restaurant certificates, sports memorabilia, paintings, wine, homebaked holiday desserts, wine and cheese party and a Julia Child dinner for eight.

St. Agnes is a nonprofit adult day care program which provides structured activities for the body, mind and spirit. The schedule is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
