PNC Women in Engineering & Technology meeting planned
WESTVILLE | Purdue University North Central Women in Engineering & Technology (WIE&T) will meet from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 23 in LSF Building, Room 170A for the celebration of the first 10 years of the program. The event is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be provided.
The program, "Overview of the past 10 years of the PNC Women in Engineering and Technology Program" will be presented by Martha Garcia-Saenz , PNC associate professor of Building Construction Management Technology.
The main focus of the WIE&T program is to encourage women to study engineering and technology through the creation of an environment that helps nourish them during the completion of their studies and helps to retain them in their chosen fields. The program is dedicated to recruiting and retaining female students to enrich the engineering and technology profession, making more equitable the gender participation in technology fields.
