VALPARAISO | Walmart Supercenter employees evacuated customers from the store Friday night after receiving a bomb threat

Jason Spicer of Kouts reported he was attempting to enter the store at 2400 Morthland Drive, about 9:20 p.m. when he saw dozens of people leaving at once, including store employees who said they had received a bomb threat.

Spicer said there were about seven city police cars parked around the store and its entrance and a police dog inside the building.

Valparaiso police Sgt. Mike Grennes said employees received a telephoned threat and evacuated customers even before police arrived. Officers were sweeping the store. The fire department was on standby.
