VALPARAISO | Police are looking for help in identifying a man who could be linked to the May 7 theft of a wallet from a shopping cart at the local Walmart store.

A woman told police she placed her purse in the front of the cart and when she went to pay for her items, she discovered the wallet missing.

She believes someone stole the wallet while she was distracted inside the store.

By the time she returned home and contacted her credit card company, she learned $2,000 had been charged at the nearby Target store.

Police have a video image of a man they would like to question, and is asking that anyone with information contact Valparaiso Detective Lt. Tom Horn at (219) 462-2135.
