Night deposit stolen from South Haven Family Dollar

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP | Porter County police are investigating the theft of the nightly deposit from the South Haven Family Dollar, 390 W. U.S. 6.

Police were called Saturday morning when the store manager discovered that the money left Friday night in one of the store's safes was missing.

Police said the safe did not appear to be damaged and there were no signs of forced entry to the store.

A night deposit also was reported stolen Aug. 28.


Police: Two teens caught shoplifting at Al's Supermarket

SOUTH HAVEN | Loss prevention officers on Friday detained two boys, ages 14 and 16, who were accused of taking Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies and Equiline men's body and face lotion from Al's Supermarket, 392 W. U.S. 6. They were released to their parents. Police are requesting they be charged with misdemeanor conversion.
