CHESTERTON | Learn the basics of Alzheimer's disease from 6 to 7 p.m. at Westchester Library Service Center, 100 W. Indiana Ave. This program is designed to help understand the difference between normal age-related memory changes and more serious memory problems that should be evaluated by a medical professional.Other topics covered include the common causes of memory loss, risk factors and the importance of an accurate diagnosis.Videos of physicians, individuals with Alzheimer's and caregivers are incorporated into this interactive program. Free Family Movie Night

Portage Senior Health Fair

PORTAGE | Portage Senior Health Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road. The fair will have many vendors who provide services for seniors as well as health screenings, demonstrations and door prizes. 1st Source Bank will be on site with a paper shredder to help eliminate unwanted paper in a secure manner. Take-out lunch fundraiser

PORTAGE | Come to Miller’s Senior Living Community to buy a take-out lunch as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Friday in May. Get a grilled sandwich, bag of chips, cookie and soft drink for $5 at 5911 Lute Road. Call (219) 764-0628.

Rummage sale

PORTER | Friends and Families of Addicts meets the first and third Friday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Hageman Library, 100 Francis St. This is a support group for friends and families that have loved ones who are addicted. Call (219) 406-8110.

Frisbee Golf Benefit

PORTAGE | A frisbee golf benefit is planned from 3 to 11 p.m. at American Legion Post 260, 5675 Mulberry Ave. This is a memorial fundraiser for Chris Nicholson who died last year. He wanted to build a frisbee golf course and this will help realize his dream. There will be food, magician, face painting and pinata for kids, 50/50 and other raffles including gift cards, sports memorabilia and more. Circle of Friendship

LAPORTE | The Presbyterian Church of LaPorte is hosting Circle of Friendship, a gathering for adults and young adults with physical challenges, will meet from noon to 2 p.m. at the church, 307 Kingsbury Ave. A free lunch will be served followed by a program presented by Terese Fabbi, an experienced dream therapist.
