SOUTH HAVEN | Interactive story time for toddlers and preschoolers planned at the South Haven library. Toddler Time (ages 2-3) 10:15-10:45 a.m.; Pre-K Time (ages 4-5) 11-11:30 a.m. every Tuesday at the South Haven branch of the Porter County Public Library, 403 W. County Road 700 North. Acrylic painting class

HEBRON | Hebron Public Library will host an acrylic painting class from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at 201 W. Sigler St. All skill levels are welcome to attend this art class, which is taught by an experienced instructor. A painting surface will be provided. Participants may attend any session that is convenient for them. The class is co-sponsored by the library and Porter County Parks and Recreation. Pokemon League

CHESTERTON | Children in first grade and above are invited to join Westchester Public Library's continuing Pokemon League. The league is held in the Children's Department at Thomas Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at 200 W. Indiana Ave. Registration is not necessary. Call (219) 926-7696.

Stuffed animal sleepover

Polish-American meeting

MICHIGAN CITY |The beginners' Polish language session is at 5 p.m., followed by informal discussion of Polish-related topics at St. Mary's School building, 321 W. 11th St. The facilitator is the Rev. Sigler St. A six-week session, with a break for the Friends of the Library book sale (no program on Feb. 21). Story Time is for 4- and 5-year-olds. The first program is a stuffed animal sleepover. Fish fry and bingo

Gardening show

VALPARAISO | The 11th annual Gardening Show sponsored by Purdue University Cooperative Extension and its Porter County Master Gardeners will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Porter County Expo Center, 215 E. Division Road. The event features presentations by national, regional and local gardening experts, seed and bulb exchange, garden photography contest, children's corner, food service and 100 exhibitors and vendors. Annual block kids competition

VALPARAISO | This free Lego building competition is hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction (Northwest Indiana Chapter) for children in grades one through six from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Valparaiso branch of the Porter County Public Library, 103 Jefferson St. All participants will receive a T-shirt, certificate of participation and goodie bag. The grand prize winner will receive a trophy and a check. The entry will then be submitted into the NAWIC regional competition with the results announced by March 1. Call (219) 795-5094.
