Mr. Imagination Birthday Celebration

VALPARAISO | The Brauer Museum of Art will have a Student Coffee Hour/Mr. Imagination Birthday Celebration from 1 to 3 p.m. at the museum, 1709 Chapel Drive. Preschool Preview Night

CHESTERTON | Families are invited to familiarize themselves with area preschools and early childhood educators at Preschool preview night at the Library Service Center, 100 W. Edible Book Festival

KOUTS | Participate in the Kouts Public Library's first ever Edible Book Festival. Participation and attendance at the festival is free, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 101 E. Daumer Road. Fun prizes will be awarded and the event will culminate in feasting on everyone's creations. On April 1 around the world, libraries and book stores hold Edible Book Festivals to celebrate literacy and creativity with a tasty twist. Participants must create a food-based representation of a book, whether it's recreating the cover, making a diorama of a scene from the book, or make a visual pun based on a book's theme or story. Whole Kids At Library

CHESTERTON | Children in third through sixth grades are invited to Westchester Public Library's three-session wellness program Whole Kids April 2, 9 and 16 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave. Registration is necessary. Sessions begin with a sharing time when children are encouraged to share thoughts, feelings, etc. The sharing time merges into activities such as mindful movements/yoga, breathing exercises, journaling, healthy eating, crafts, singing, and more. Free community dinners

AAUW meeting

VALPARAISO | Sue Bennett, a federal park ranger and chief of interpretation and education at Dunes National Lakeshore will speak on The Future of the Dunes at the meeting of the Valparaiso branch of AAUW at 7 p.m. at Family and Youth Service Bureau, 253 Lincolnway. The American Association of University Women invites women who have an associates degree or higher to consider membership. In addition to branch meetings, the group has afternoon and evening book clubs, ArtFlix (viewing and discussion of art films), Women at the Movies, Great Decisions(discussions on current events), and day trips. Friends and Families of Addicts

SATURDAY

Rummage Sale

VALPARAISO | The Christ Lutheran Church Youth are sponsoring a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2610 Campbell St., with all of the proceeds to be used for the Christ Lutheran youth projects, especially their annual mission trip during the summer. Tree Workshop, Sale

VALPARAISO | The Porter County Extension Board is hosting a tree sale and workshop from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Porter county Expo & Fairgrounds 4-H building, 215 Division Road. Fruit trees, berry plants, arbor vitae and more are for sale. East bake sale
