PORTER | An afternoon of kid's activities is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore's visitor center. All children must be accompanied by an adult at the center, 1215 N. Ind. 49. Call (219) 395-1882.

Preschool Movies series

CHESTERTON |  Westchester Public Library's newest film series, Preschool Movies, continues at 9 a.m. with "Stellaluna" at Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Ave. The film will be shown in the Bertha Wood meeting room on the second floor. All library films are free of charge and open to the public. Call (219) 926-7696.

Pet adoption event

Meet with some of Lakeshore PAWS’ adoptable pets during P.E.T.S. Rescue Appreciation Day hosted by Positive Experience Training School, 750 Rigg Road. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lakeshore PAWS’ pets will be available for adoption, along with animals from other local rescues. Lego Club

PORTAGE | The Lego Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. for kids in kindergarten to fifth grade at the Portage branch of the Porter County Public Library, 2665 Irving St. The creations will be on display for one month in the Youth Services Department. Call (219) 763-1508.

Pysanky Eggs for adults

Porter County Parks and Recreation will offer a Pysanky eggs class for adults from 1 to 4 p.m. at Sunset Hill Farm County Park. Cost is $25. Pysanky uses a wax-resist (batik) method to dye eggs, resulting in striking colors and elaborate detail. Call (219) 548-0203.
