Lions Club dinner meeting
VALPARAISO | The Valparaiso Lions Club will hold its monthly dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Pines Village Conference Room, 3303 Pines Village Lane. The public is invited to take part in a pep rally before the Valparaiso High School homecoming game. The pep rally will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Central Park Plaza on Lincolnway at Lafayette Street. Indiana Ave. Registration is necessary due to the limited number of computers available and is underway. Registrants must be proficient with the mouse and familiar with Word basics. Attendees will learn basic formatting skills, including bullets, numbering tabs, columns, etc. Those who attend will also learn how to insert clip art, use word art, create labels and more. Portage Community Historical Society welcomes alumni
PORTAGE | Welcome all Portage Alumni from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the Alton Goin Museum at Countryside Park. The museum buildings will be opened especially for them to visit on Friday. The Alton Goin Museum, Trager farmhouse and barn will be open for tours. A video of the 1994 D.A.C. CHESTERTON | Children age 6 and up are invited to join Jennifer Loving of Loving Fitness for Yoga4Kids from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Thomas Library, Westchester Public Library’s main branch, 200 W. Indiana Ave., in the Children’s Department. Registration is required. Attendees will be introduced to beginning and intermediate yoga poses with fun games, stories, partner stretching and age appropriate lessons on controlling/relaxing the body and mind. Each child will learn healthy techniques for lengthening muscles and developing flexibility. The relaxation Loving teaches helps children learn to navigate life’s challenges with a little more ease.
