Freedom from Smoking

MICHIGAN CITY | Freedom from Smoking is a seven-session program, led by a certified facilitator, designed to help people quit smoking with an emphasis on behavior change. This class is offered in conjunction with the American Lung Association. It will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the 4 North meeting room at Franciscan St. Anthony Health, 301 W. Teen Advisory Group

HEBRON | Earn volunteer hours at TAG from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Hebron Public Library, 201 W. Sigler St. Eat, talk books, prep crafts for children's program, and help us plan teen events. Read to Teddy the Dog

Preschool preview night

VALPARAISO | Preschool preview night open house planned from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Valparaiso Public Library, 103 Jefferson St. This event helps families become familiar with local preschools. Representatives of area preschools provide information about their schools, as well as brochures concerning school's philosophy, curriculum, tuition costs and enrollment procedures. W2 & 1099 payroll workshop

VALPARAISO | Join this workshop for tips to check your work and be confident before you file with government agencies, from 9 a.m. to noon at Purdue University North Central Graduate Building, 600 Vale Park Road, Room 20. Topics include: verifying payroll totals, prepping your printers, processing W-2 forms and copies, state and federal forms checklists, verifying vendor data for reporting and processing 1099-Misc forms and copies.
