VALPARAISO | Porter Health Care System recently named Cathy Pera, Director of IMCU and the Progressive Care Unit, as Porter's Clinical Manager-of-the-Year, and Tracey Knapp, Director of Porter Physician Group, as Porter's Non-Clinical Manager-of-the-Year.
“Cathy and Tracey are first-class leaders and exemplify our organization’s core values and caring culture,” stated Porter Health Care System CEO Jonathan Nalli. “Both lead by example, appreciate and motivate their co-workers and have a clear vision to consistently attain their departmental goals and objectives.”
In receiving this prestigious award, Pera stated," Porter has been my clinical home since 1979. I was invited to serve as Unit Director of the IMCU and Progressive Care Unit in 2003. Leadership is about surrounding yourself with incredible people that come together with one vision. At Porter that vision is patients and families first. You can't help but be successful in a team that walks that walk with you."
Pera's strong sentiments of working with a strong dedicated team were echoed in Knapp's thoughts on this award. "This is such an honor when you look at the experience and talent of Porter's management team. I work with a phenomenal team of physicians, managers and supervisors and couldn't do my job without them," shared Knapp.
