VALPARAISO | Susan Stuart, Professor of Law at Valparaiso University, will speak at a public meeting of AAUW on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Room D119 of the Ivy Tech building at 3100 Ivy Tech Drive Professor Stuart's topic is Title IX & "Hostile Hallways" This refers to the AAUW study on bullying, teasing, and sexual harassment in America's schools. The meeting is open to all and should be of particular interest to parents and teachers. Students are also welcome.
Professor Stuart, a member of the Valparaiso Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women), has written extensively on Education Law. She teaches this subject as well as Legal Writing, Trusts and Estates, Insurance Law, and Remedies. Professor Stuart practiced law for 11 years in Indianapolis after a three-year clerkship with the Indiana Court of Appeals. Her practice focused on education, labor and employment law, but also included commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters. She left practice in 1996, to join the faculty at Indiana University School of Law - Bloomington and joined the Valparaiso University School of Law faculty on a full-time basis in Fall, 2000. Professor Stuart received her B.A. degree from DePauw University, her M.Ed. from Valparaiso University, and her J.D. from Indiana University - Indianapolis.
