VALPARAISO | A 16-year-old girl was arrested Wednesday on a prostitution charge at a Valparaiso hotel.
The arrest came after a review of the "escort services" section of an Internet classified-ad site, said Porter County Prosecutor Brian Gensel.
According to the prosecutor, undercover officers of the Porter County Drug Taskforce learned that the teen was advertising sexual services in Porter County.
Gensel said agents arranged to meet her at the Valparaiso Marriott Courtyard hotel on U.S. 30. She was arrested after attempting to negotiate for sexual services.
She was taken to the Porter County Juvenile Services Center pending the filing of a delinquency petition.
