PORTER COUNTY | This is the nation's Month of the Military Child, a time to honor youths and their service to our country. In celebration, Mental Health America of Porter County as part of their Building Up Our Youth program SUPPORTS Indiana Operation: Military Kids, part of the 4-H Youth Development program of Purdue Extension.

On Tuesday, as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices people are invited to Purple Up! for military kids. Everyone across the nation is encouraged to wear their purple shirts, scarves, shoes, pants.

Operation: Military Kids is the U.S. Army's collaborative effort with America's communities to support children and youths impacted by military deployments.
